Brand meaning

Details that matter.

KALIMATI is an arabic word whose roots can be used to describe one's language, stylistic expression and similarly, their culture.

The triangle represents the universal symbol of progress, action and reason. The object found inside is the arabic letter k/kaf. Combined, the final brand logo comes together to form the iconic martial arts belt — a symbol of one's path from initiation (white) to mastery (black).

Amro, founder of KALIMATI

The founder

Hi — I'm Amro.

I come from a small village in Lebanon, but I spent the majority of my life abroad and away from home — like many people from the Middle East.

I enjoy and train in martial arts — specifically jiu-jitsu, wrestling and judo. The sport has generally made me a stronger, better and happier person.

I created KALIMATI because I wanted to combine these cultures that I believe many can relate to, one way or the other. You don't have to train in combat to realize that we're all technically "fighting" — to hold on to something we don't want to lose, or to achieve something we don't yet have.
